ROLLING THE DICE


While Haley Stevens has gotten the early worm, having filed to run as the Democratic Congressional candidate for the 11th District against Republican David Trott, she may have some competition. We flagged Oakland Confidential readers months ago that Birmingham’s Daniel Haberman might throw his hat into the proverbial ring. Now we are raising that to “ more than likely.” He’s currently getting his ducks lined up, and looking to siphon some of the dollars being thrown Stevens’ way. While Haberman, a businessman, has never run for public office before, he has some legislative experience. He and his late brother Jeremy, who owned the Magic Bag Theater in Ferndale, worked successfully with the Michigan legislature to ban smoking in restaurants in 2010.
