DO OVER
Problems for the Michigan GOP keep on rolling. The latest is word they will have to scrap their “creative” plan to have a two-part presidential primary as a way to try to comply with both new Michigan primary date in late February 2024, and the national Republican rules. The Republican National Committee has informed the state GOP that their rules override all others – meaning a Republican primary or caucus cannot take place before March 15, 2024. Earlier this year, the Michigan legislature moved the state’s primary from late March to February 27. The Michigan GOP has until October 1 to submit a new plan.
