IT’S A WOMAN’S WORLD

Candidates love to tout political endorsements, and Holly Democrat Elissa Slotkin is no different. “Folks – this is a big deal,” Slotkin’s campaign for Michigan’s 8th congressional seat, held by Mike Bishop (R-Rochester, Rochester Hills), said in announcing an endorsement from EMILY’s List. “EMILY’s List is throwing their support behind Elissa because they know she has what it takes to unseat an entrenched career politician like Mike Bishop.” EMILY’s List is a national political action committee that aims to elect pro-choice, Democratic, female candidates to office. Whether the Year of the Woman will extend into the 2018 election remains to be seen, but the endorsement will surely be a boost amongst pro-choice voters.
