A state senator who did get the royal – or gubernatorial – backing from Governor Gretchen Whitmer is Democrat state Senate President Pro Tem Jeremy Moss (Southfield, Bloomfield Township, Pontiac). Moss is running for Congress in the 11th District to replace Haley Stevens, and Whitmer, in a release, expressed her confidence that Moss will continue to deliver real results for Oakland County in Congress. “Jeremy Moss is a tough, tested leader who fights like hell every day to make Michiganders’ lives better,” Whitmer said. “As a member of Congress, I know he will stand up for working families, lower costs for Michiganders, and fight for our freedoms. He has always had Michigan’s back, and I’m proud to support him.” Also running in the Democratic primary in August are Stu Baker of Auburn Hills, attorney Aisha Farooqi, Dr. Anil Kumar of Bloomfield Hills, John Paul Torres of Waterford and Don Ulford of Bloomfield.
